Snowball Agates from Mexico

I acquired this little batch of Snowball Agates four or five
years ago and they sat around my shop uncut until this January
-- not because I wasn't dying to see what was inside of them,
but because life has a funny way of getting way too busy for
me to accomplish even half of the things I would like to get
done in a day...anyway, I finally cut them open and wow, what
a nice surprise! About a third of them were filled with matrix
(complete junk), a third contained so-so agate (OK, but otherwise
bland & uninspiring), but the final third nearly knocked
my socks off! As you can see from the detail photos below, the
best agates from this batch rival the most expensive & sought
after agates in the world (Lagunas, Queensland Agates, Lake Superior
Agates, etc.). Some of them I will keep for specimens and others
I will probably cab...if I ever have the free time to accomplish
this last task I will post pictures for you here! Until then,
please enjoy the present photos. :)

Just look at 'em all!

One nodule with banding, one with Sagenite.

Super nice! I'm definitely cabbing this one!

A pink amoeba?

Pretty.

Deep translucent red. This piece will cut a unique stone.
