Distributed Computing Programs
Did you know that your home or office computer can be doing
REAL science (instead of wasting electricity) while you are away
on coffee break or talking on the phone? Well, it can. Here’s
how:
We are currently looking for volunteers to participate in
the efforts of our Folding@home and SETI@home teams. Both programs
are very easy to set up and run, and require no advanced computer
or science skills. All you need is an Internet capable computer
(even an old klunker) and the desire to help.
While we cannot pay our volunteers, we are willing to show
our appreciation publicly on our web site. Anyone who downloads
either Folding@home or SETI@home and joins our team (see instructions
below) will receive a free text only listing on this page along
with a link to their own site(s) if they so desire, for as long
as they continue to actively contribute computing time to either
(or both) projects.
